The hospital has also upgraded its diagnostic infrastructure with the installation of the MAGNETOM Sempra 1.5 Tesla MRI system from Siemens Healthineers.
The new MRI system incorporates TIM (Total Imaging Matrix) and DOT (Day Optimizing Throughput) technologies, designed to improve scan quality and workflow efficiency. With a non-claustrophobic, flared design and feet-first imaging capability, the system is aimed at improving patient comfort, particularly for children and the elderly. It also includes QUIET Suite technology, which reduces scan noise by up to 93%.
Raj Vardhan Dixit, OSD Chairman of NIIMS Hospital, said, “The hospital is now equipped to handle a larger patient load while maintaining high diagnostic standards.”
Among the key features of the new system is the CAPRINHA technology, which allows rapid 3D scans to complete sequences in 12 to 15 seconds while using lightweight coils for improved patient handling and image clarity. It also offers high-resolution imaging with a short bore design, improving access and comfort for a wide range of body types.
The hospital continues to offer services under government healthcare schemes such as Ayushman Bharat and CGHS, aiming to ensure accessibility for patients from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds.
